B-Pillars have big role in Tailored Blanks offering
Hot stamped laser welded B-Pillar Inners and Outers help automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) balance loads during a side impact crash event with Usibor® used for anti-intrusion and Ductibor® used for energy absorption as part of a laser welded blank.
Although B-Pillar outers have started being designed as part of door rings, B-Pillar inners are still used in conjunction with door rings to manage side and roof crush load cases.
